Okay, so we are all stuck at home right now more bored than ever and let me tell you, I catch myself snacking and eating more junk than ever. I get it, we are stuck at home and sometimes you just need to sit in your bed and eat that bag of cheetos because you’re upset your wedding got cancelled or you won’t get to walk across the stage at graduation. I GET IT GIRLFRIEND, life is super hard and confusing right now but, how do we keep ourselves from binging all the quarantine snacks in one day? Today I rounded up some tips to help you feel like you’re in a routine or when you catch yourself eating a snack 5 minutes after you finished the last one.
Go On A Walk
So, we all have seen the memes and TikTok videos of people talking about how they have been on 5 walks already today but, taking walks is actually super good for some fresh air or some change of scenery for a bit. I have actually started to dress up for my walks like putting on a cute outfit and doing my makeup and seriously, it made me feel so good. I think personally for me, when I don’t get dressed up for the day or stick to my normal routine, I catch myself reaching for snacks more.
Have An At-Home Spa Day
Now is the time to y’all to take time for yourself! I love doing at home spa days because I can get so stressed and overwhelmed and just taking time to relax and refresh, it’s a good reset for me for the next day. I usually like to run a bath and put some bubbles in it and grab a good face mask or even a DIY facemask from products I have at home. I also like to make some hot tea, this really helps me when I feel anxious and I feel like my blood pressure is high. I also like to paint my nails, just a treat my self kind of day! Read A Book
If my parents read this blog post, they will know I have hit rock bottom by posting this because I hate reading but, when I find a good book I am hooked! For me I love realistic romantic books or just books that are realistic fiction! Once you get sucked into a book, you will not think once about the snacks in the pantry.
Make A Vision Board
With everything going on right now, what keeps me going everyday is by thinking to the future and what I want to do once this quarantine is over. A vision board is the perfect way to stay positive about what is going on. You can make a travel vision board of where you want to travel, a food vision board of what you want to learn to cook or bake, I like to do once for clothes and trends for each season. All you do is just print pictures off the internet or from magazines or really anything that inspires you and stick it to a piece of paper! Pictures below for examples.
Play Dress Up With Your Clothes
Something I love to do when I am bored is go through my closet and just put outfits together. It always amazes me how many outfits I can create with just one top or skirt. This can also segway into cleaning out your closet. When I found out I wasn’t going to be having classes at Tech and more and I went home, I purged my whole closet and room and I probably had like 10 bags of things to donate. It was a lot of work but it was 1) time consuming and 2) really nice to go through my room and clean out things I still had from 8th grade.
Good ideas! Read a book – my fav!
