So I got a lot of requests about how I blog and edit my photos so I thought I would put together a post for y’all! I am not an expert blogger, believe me, I still have a lot to learn but, over the past year, I have managed to find things that work for me and my blog!
How I Edit My Instagram Photos
It took me a while to figure out how to make my Instagram photos look professional but they still don’t compare to getting your pictures taken. The good thing about these tips and tricks I am going to show you is that you don’t have to be an expert at technology or camera settings you just have to know how to work a camera and a computer. So the way I edit my photos isn’t anything crazy. The app that I use most of the time is Lightroom. I have it on my phone and computer. You do have to pay a little bit for Lightroom but I think it’s only 10$ a month. It’s super easy to use and when I first got it I just used a raw photo to play around with the settings and figure out what does what!
I also buy a lot of presets from Etsy. Presets are filters but personally, I think they look a lot better than the Instagram or VOSCO ones. The good thing about buying presets on Etsy is that they are cheap and most of the time they are made by photographers. So, you’re probably wondering how to decide which presets will look good with your photos. Most presets say whether they are better for indoor or outdoor photos and if they are for bright or dark photos. Depending on when and where you take your photos is how you will decide what presets to use. I also just bought my new blog theme template off Etsy and I love it! It is super easy to set up and was only $12. If you thought Etsy was just for homemade goods, think again because it has been a great blogging tool for me!
Things I used that I mentioned above:
How To Have Constant Blog Content
When I first started blogging, I decided that I would designate Sunday’s to my blog post days. After a few months I decided that I wanted to start posting more and I have loved it ever since! It may seem to some of y’all that I have constant posts on my blog but, some weeks I barely get stuff up. I have found that if you push yourself to always post stuff then it’s not as enjoyable. I just enjoy my life and if I have more time one week to write posts, then I will and if life gets in the way another week, I just skip it and post the next time I’m not as busy!
Some blogging websites do allow you to schedule posts (literally what I am doing right now with this post) which is super helpful! Some weekends I will sit down and crank out several blog posts and schedule them throughout the week because it is way easier to post an Instagram photo during the week then it is to write an entire post! My last word of advice would be to just have fun with your blog! Don’t feel pressured to post a lot! When you feel like you have a good post to write about, write it! It will be way more enjoyable that way!
